Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a dynamic and fast paced luxury retail and manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and monthly management reports.
  • Record and reconcile daily transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date general ledgers.
  • Support month end and year end closing processes.
  • Prepare schedules, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation.
  • Process invoices, supplier payments, and expense claims.
  • Monitor and reconcile petty cash and staff reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Assist with statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF).
  • Provide ad hoc finance support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

  • 1–2 years accounting experience (retail/manufacturing advantageous).
  • Knowledge of Sage preferred.

Job Summary

The Stockroom Controller oversees all stockroom operations, ensuring accurate stock handling, efficient organisation, and smooth product flow between the stockroom and sales floor.

Roles and Responsibilities

Not limited to:

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock records.
  • Track inbound and outbound stock movement.
  • Prevent overstocking and stockouts.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and dispatch orders for stores.
  • Organise daily courier pickups.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager and Buying Lead on reorder planning.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant stockroom.
  • Control access to stockroom and maintain register.
  • Submit weekly stock reports.
  • Inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure documentation is filed correctly for audits.
  • Investigate and report stock variances.
  • Train junior stockroom staff.
  • Follow all company policies.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 required.
  • Diploma/Degree in Retail, Logistics, or Supply Chain advantageous.

Experience

  • 3–5 years experience in stock control, retail operations, or warehousing.
  • Fashion/luxury retail experience advantageous.

Job Summary

The Industrial Product Designer will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative lifestyle products that align with MaXhosa Africa's luxury brand identity. This includes homeware, furniture, décor, and other lifestyle offerings that embody African heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary luxury. The role bridges creativity, technical design, and production, ensuring all products reflect the brand's ethos while meeting functional and market requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

Not limited to:

  • Research trends in luxury retail, lifestyle, and African-inspired design to inform product development.
  • Develop detailed sketches, 3D models, prototypes, and technical drawings for production.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team Leader and Creative Director to align designs with seasonal themes and brand vision.
  • Partner with suppliers and manufacturers to develop samples, refine prototypes, and conduct quality checks throughout production.
  • Test and evaluate materials, finishes, and structures for durability, functionality, and aesthetic excellence.
  • Ensure designs embody MaXhosa Africa's storytelling, product concepts, cultural heritage, and luxury positioning, while adhering to sustainable and ethical design practices.
  • Conduct user and market research to identify opportunities and guide product innovation.
  • Iterate designs based on user testing, feedback, and market insights.
  • Work closely with the fashion design team to ensure collections transition cohesively from apparel to lifestyle products.
  • Collaborate with retail and sales teams to understand consumer preferences and integrate feedback into future designs.
  • Provide input on marketing plans by identifying key product features and benefits that resonate with customers.
  • Stay up to date with global luxury design trends, emerging materials, and production techniques.
  • Support exhibitions, pop-ups, and installations showcasing lifestyle products to reinforce the brand's luxury identity.
  • Assist in preparing relevant departmental reports.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Essential).
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.

Experience

  • 3–5 years' experience in product design, preferably in luxury, lifestyle, or retail brands.
  • Proven track record in developing products from concept to market.
  • Experience working with artisans and manufacturers (local and global) is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Creative & Technical Design:

  • Strong industrial/product design portfolio, preferably with luxury or lifestyle experience.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (Rhino, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Blender, Adobe Illustrator).
  • Skilled in drawing, sketching, mechanical drafting, and technical detailing.
  • Ability to merge creativity with functionality while staying true to brand identity.

Material & Manufacturing Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of materials, including wood (carpentry), textiles, metals, ceramics, composites, and related finishes.
  • Practical knowledge of carpentry techniques, joinery, and wood construction methods.
  • Familiar with various production processes and comfortable in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
  • A strong aptitude for hardware, tools, and machinery, with hands-on problem-solving ability.
