Sales Assistant – Oceans Umhlanga
We are looking for a customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Oceans Umhlanga store.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a luxury, personalised, and professional shopping experience to all customers
- Provide customers with accurate information on products, pricing and promotions
- Contribute to achieving sales targets through proactive customer engagement and service excellence
- Maintain an up-to-date customer database by accurately capturing and updating customer profile details
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product features, collections, and sales promotions to provide informed customer assistance
- Process sales transactions accurately and handle customer payments in line with company procedures
- Oversee and maintain the arrangement of window displays, shelves, and counters to ensure an attractive and well-presented store floor
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines and seasonal campaigns
- Participate in regular stocktaking and inventory control processes to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Act as a brand ambassador by consistently upholding the company's image, values and service standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations
- Ensure full compliance with established store policies, procedures, and brand guidelines at all times
- Provide prompt and effective solutions to resolve customer queries, concerns, or complaints in a professional manner
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Education:
- Grade 12 (essential)
- Diploma or Degree in Retail Management or an equivalent qualification
Experience:
- 1–3 years experience in retail and customer service
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic financial skills, including the ability to process cash and credit card payments accurately to ensure balanced accounts
- Strong organisational skills to arrange and maintain window displays, shelves, and overall store layout
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers, provide product information, drive sales, and deliver outstanding customer service
- Ability to consistently display professionalism when interacting with clients
