Sales Assistant – Oceans Umhlanga

We are looking for a customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Oceans Umhlanga store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a luxury, personalised, and professional shopping experience to all customers
  • Provide customers with accurate information on products, pricing and promotions
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets through proactive customer engagement and service excellence
  • Maintain an up-to-date customer database by accurately capturing and updating customer profile details
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product features, collections, and sales promotions to provide informed customer assistance
  • Process sales transactions accurately and handle customer payments in line with company procedures
  • Oversee and maintain the arrangement of window displays, shelves, and counters to ensure an attractive and well-presented store floor
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines and seasonal campaigns
  • Participate in regular stocktaking and inventory control processes to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Act as a brand ambassador by consistently upholding the company's image, values and service standards
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations
  • Ensure full compliance with established store policies, procedures, and brand guidelines at all times
  • Provide prompt and effective solutions to resolve customer queries, concerns, or complaints in a professional manner

Desired Experience & Qualifications

Education:

  • Grade 12 (essential)
  • Diploma or Degree in Retail Management or an equivalent qualification

Experience:

  • 1–3 years experience in retail and customer service

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic financial skills, including the ability to process cash and credit card payments accurately to ensure balanced accounts
  • Strong organisational skills to arrange and maintain window displays, shelves, and overall store layout
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with customers, provide product information, drive sales, and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Ability to consistently display professionalism when interacting with clients
